PhuturePriest
this is like waving a red flag in front of some people here. edit: case in point, Winchester.
I'm just not sure what I'm supposed to do. It seems no matter what I do I cause a debate, and I am sick of debating. I debate all of the time and I just want a place where I can say something non-controversial and not spark up a debate. People can blame me for phrasing it wrong and thus causing it all they want, but they're the ones that took the initiative of debate instead of making sure I did not just phrase it wrong. I'm sorry if I seem snippy, but I just got back home for the first time since this morning and I was annoyed when this did not pan out the way I wanted it to. I'm going to listen to The Joshua Tree and hopefully anti-war songs will help me from getting a few ideas from The Hunger Games (Which I just watched today). But quite unfortunately, the world is full of arrogant people and if you do not reply to them it just makes them think they are right all the more, and I don't know about you, but I cannot stand arrogant people. We all fall to arrogance at times, and I am no better (Though I am trying very hard), but concealing it and proudly throwing it around are two very different things, and I just want to pop some people at times. MissScripture
Does it matter if they think they are right? Are you going to convince them they aren't by arguing? I argue at times I definitely should keep my mouth shut, too. But it really isn't worth getting worked up over. I know from experience. I've done it. Totally not worth it.
Well, yes, quite honestly. Every time I say something like "Jason Evert is razzle dazzle", it is always replied with "I hate Jason Evert. He is so stupid. Only morons listen to him". Can I not have an opinion and not have it challenged? I am simply trying to look for common ground in order to relate to people here, and you could say I still haven't found what I'm lookin' for. Pun intended. It was amazing. I loved the movie. I am most certainly going to read the books.

I suppose I just believe that you are either right or you are not, and thankfully I have been showing that I will admit when I am wrong. I have been shown that I am wrong at times, and I have apologized. But why am I the only one supposed to show humility?
I love the old stuff and the new stuff. Where The Streets Have No Name is certainly one of the best songs ever, but I also appreciate songs like Elevation and Vertigo. I once listened to Elevation all day. My mom wanted to kill me because I was blaring it out of the speakers and she hates U2.
MissScripture
Because life isn't fair. Trust me, there are some people who will never admit when they are wrong. And it's not worth beating your head against a wall trying to get them to admit it. Smile, roll your eyes and move on. Don't waste your time being worried about them being wrong. Once you've spoken the truth to someone, they can accept it or reject it, but you can't force them to accept it.
Lil Red
yeah, i would've wanted to kill you too. playing one song on repeat? that's just not nice. oh, and to the other stuff....you should've just not posted anything in the OP about it, but then once you did, you should've just ignored people. like i said, waving a red flag in front of a raging bull. I do realize your point, though. I mean, after all, people fall to pride, and I am no exception. Many times I have decided not to listen no matter what. However, I am getting much better, though this is a miracle all in itself. I am amazed I listened long enough to realize I needed to work on it. I could listen to Where The Streets Have No Names all night right now, and I plan to most certainly. My iHome has wonderful speakers and a great bass. I'll play it so loud even you can hear it.
