Easter Dinner!

I'm not sure if this has been stated in the thread as of yet, but eating lamb is a Christian tradition on Easter, as it symbolizes the Lamb of God. However, I simply could not eat a lamb. They are just too cute.

There was plenty of mint sauce and mint jelly, but the people who didnt like the lamb didn't take those things! How sad. Didn't do onion gravy because I can't eat onions. ;)

Ok, off to make some naan.

No special food. Just potluck with friends.

But the beer of course was worthy of celebrating the Risen Lord.

reminds me of this time I was in Livonia, MI...went to a greek place...the BEST lamb ever!!!

Put it on the card... wife open the cc bill... see's a charge for "Big Daddy's". I had to explain that was the greek place we went to.

I still remember the look of, "you must be kidding if you expect me to believe that'. good times....

It probably didn't help that I was laughing when I was explaining myself.

Exactly. And if you had me over, you'd have the inevitable left over lamb.
However, with enough onion gravy and mint sauce, I could eat enough legs to cripple a large flock of sheep.

All the more lamb for me. :P

We ate chicken, asparagus, three bean salad, fruit salad, and other special items due to dietary restrictions. :)

Umm, that's ridiculous. And not just, "wow, that's silly," but rather, "that is worthy or ridicule." How do they even support that? I feel like you could use that same reasoning to discount a majority of Christian traditions in some way or another.

Honestly, it's not terribly different from Catholics not inviting non-Catholics to the Eucharist.

My wife and I have considered doing some sort of seder as a family tradition, but the more I think about it, the more I think it would be inappropriate. We're Catholic, not Jewish. And though we have the greatest respect for the Jewish people, it would be more respectful to let it be a Jewish tradition, and not participate ourselves. After all, I find it offensive when a non-Catholic receives the Eucharist.

BTW, the kielbasa was excellent - even cold!

:) I can tell everyone what I had, and I didn't have to cook!

a) homemade chicken lasagna. you could lick your fingers (plate too). It was that good.
b) roast leg of lamb. Super tender. amesome gravy. Can't remember what went with it (maybe pea pods?) -- the lamb was that good. Side salad.
c) watermelon balls for desert, served in the watermelon itself.
d) your choice of white or red wine :) Edited by cmariadiaz
