Is Our World Going To End Soon?

Our world just seems so crazy! Only in today's society have morals been challenged to the extreme they are now! I don't know what do you think?

I'd hesitate to say it's only in today's society. Chek out some Greek painted pottery. Spartans and Romans practiced infanticide. Will the world end soon? I don't know, but I do know that today's sins aren't really new.

I agree with both of ya but I feel like it is sometimes. Our world is crazy and the modern inventions of today helps it be more crazy. I feel like things like guns are supposed to be used along with morals. But really, there are shootings, foul language, secularism, sexual immorality, theft, extreme gluttony and greed in 1st world countries while in 3rd world countries, there are are people dieing by the thousands from hunger and disease. On top of it all Catholics in secularized places have been decreasing. I just feel like the world is so crazy!

[sub]Annie, I can understand why you feel that way - it does feel out of control sometimes.[/sub]

[sub]Certainly it was that way when Jesus was born.... and the world of St. Francis and Dominic (12 century) and St. Teresa of Jesus and St. John of the Cross and St. Ignatius (16th Century) and much of the last two centuries could easily have fit the description you wrote.[/sub]
[sub] [/sub]
[sub][sub]However.... sometimes it is at just those moments that God moves in and does something beautiful. I am convinced that God is the ultimate recycler -- He takes all the broken pieces and transforms them in love and gives us new things. [/sub][/sub]
[sub] [/sub]
[sub][sub]Certainly this week in the Church year tells the ultimate version of that story - transforming Jesus' death into the Resurrection --- and giving life to all of us.[/sub][/sub]

Thing is that it's pretty crazy always.

Before Jesus, when he lived and after.

Have you ever read the life of St. Vincent de Paul? When he visited a home the mother put her young daughter, under 8, in the room "pimping" her out just incase the priest wanted it. It was considered hospatality  Infanticide was commonly practiced and poor literally died on the street near rich homes.

So as bad as things are, they've been far worse.

I take back my fist post! I do think it is interesting though, how Jesus said to saint Faustina that the day of mercy will come before the day of justice. he said that in 1930 so it makes me wonder. Also the blessed mother has appeared a lot more frequently in the 20th century than in any other century. I can think of several approved apparitions; Fatima, Akita, Kibeho, here: http://www.miraclehunter.com/marian_apparitions/approved_apparitions/bishop.htm and here (towards the bottom): http://www.miraclehunter.com/marian_apparitions/approved_apparitions/vatican.html and (arguably, because it's not approved.) medjugore. This just makes me think we have a mother who is trying to get us to heaven by getting our attention because she can sense (or knows) something we can't. I feel like the frequency tells us something. "[background=rgb(249, 253, 255)]a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering a service to God." (john 16:2) This passage from the bible makes me think of extremist Muslims. There was also an end of the world prophesy that an early mystic and saint had and it almost exactly described our modern time (I can't remember exactly ). I don't know. I will just be happy when God comes in triumph to bring us all (hopefully, probably not really) to heaven. I trust in Jesus and we are here and now for a reason. I don't think that dwelling on this is a good idea because it distracts us from our real mission in life; to love and serve God with all our hearts and souls[/background][background=rgb(249, 253, 255)] )[/background][background=rgb(249, 253, 255)]![/background][background=rgb(249, 253, 255)] [/background][background=rgb(249, 253, 255)] :saint2: I just think it is interesting to think about for maybe 2 seconds! ha ha [/background][background=rgb(249, 253, 255)] [/background][background=rgb(249, 253, 255)] :hehe2:[/background]

I know EXACTLY the time of the Second Coming!!!

The exact moment God chooses.

So I'm not going to focus on it, just on loving Him more. :)

I think that we're hearing about things a lot more because of television, internet etc. Also, some things are more acceptable now, its not that these sins weren't committed before, even widely committed but society on the whole frowned on them. Now they've been embraced by society. Also, there are far more children born outside marriage now then since records began. Also, a lot of things simply weren't possible (embryonic stem cells research, cloning) or as widely available (contraception, internet porn)

But in the end all will be well. Remember what Jesus promised, hell will not prevail against the Church (paraphrasing, I know)
