thicke
I have quite a few: A friend of mine delivered a pizza to REM while they here recording "Green". Two of them also came into the record shop where I worked. Another friend of mine delivered room service to Micky Rourke while he was here filming one of those John Grisham movies. I saw Joe Strummer of The Clash at a bar downtown not long before he died. I mentioned this one in another thread.... I was at a Public Enemy show. I noticed a large black man behind me who looked familiar. When I realized it was Isaac Hayes, I turned around and he had vanished. I was at a restaurant in San Francisco one night while most of the cast and crew of the Matrix were having some party in a private room. I didn't actually see any of them though. The best man at my wedding used to live in LA working as a production assistant. He worked for a year on Fear Factor and hung out Joe Rogan regularly. Here in Memphis he is working on a movie staring Rip Torn. I also used to go Graceland often for the birthday/death anniversary, there were always celebs in the crowds for that. Jake Huether
Um... A friend of my Great Grandma babysat for Joe Montana. And one year, at my Great Grandma's B'day party (I had just started High School football- 10 years ago), she was able to get Joe Montana's wife on the phone. So I got to talk to Joe Montana's wife! LOL. I don't know where he was. But he later sent me and my brother pictures of himself personalized to us. My dad also went to gradeschool with some girl who later became an actress (forget her name). Hmmmm... There's prolly more, but I don't remember now... Ash Wednesday
Hey Kilroy -- Is Val Catholic? I was reading a magazine (it might have been Architectural Digest) and it had a feature about Val's home, and his desire to make it a calming, spiritual place. In one of the rooms he had some icons and candles. And it was a beautiful home, too.
Dave
I decided to resurrect this old thread because I remembered some other connections I have. 1. My late grandmother was country singer T. Graham Brown's first grade teacher. 2. I went to college with conservative political commentator/radio show host Erick Erickson (he was an acquaintance; I didn't know him very well).
