dUSt
I don't. There's just too many good underground Christian hip-hop artists out there. 99% of the secular hip-hop lyrics are totally contradictory to my goal of living a life of holiness--so I simply avoid it. [/quote] Good point. I bump to the radio in traffic sometimes and at the club where it's usually a DJ mix, but I haven't bought a CD in years. I really don't like hearing the "F" word used as a noun, verb, article, modifier, adjective, adverb, etc.

Diggety
I used to listen to a lot of East Coast stuff - Tribe, Roots, Jeru, KRS, etc. and loved it to the point where I almost idolized it. That all changed when I gave my life to Christ, and I'm like M.Sigga where I don't remember the last secular rap album I bought. Until the last couple years-where I've found Christian hip-hop I actually liked, I would just listen to my own creations over and over, as the secular stuff would just hurt me to listen to-made me feel dirty like watching southpark or somethin. -clockwork

Sammy Blaze
Whenever I listen to secular rap now, it's kinda like I'm checkin' out the competition. So i can see how to hold it down and bring something God-inspired that people will be feeling regardless if they're Christian or not... But if heads ain't nodding, it doesnt' matter, it's all for the Glory of God Almighty. ~S.

Gangster rap, underground, tree hugging rap, Christian rap, secular rap, Catholic rap....etc. You never see Muslim rappers calling their music "Muslim rap". I'm not an mc, but If I was there wouldn't be a reason for me to tell you I was Catholic, because it would be apparent in my rhymes. Rap is rap regardless if your doing it for the clubs, the cats hustling on the corner, or for Christ and his church. It's just alot of different rappers with different opinions, religious views, morals, goals..etc.
