J-Roq
I was linked this video about the washing of the feet on Holy Thursday's mass and how it is often done in direct violation of Church teachings. http://www.realcatholictv.com/daily/?today=2012-03-30 Comments? FutureSister2009
Well my Parish does it every year. I guess we are in violation
IcePrincessKRS
Yeah, our parish did it wrong last year, too.
BG45
Parish here washes women's feet, but not my parish at home, men only there. "Some will cry about this being mean to women", not really Voris. My only complaint about this video is that it still uses the name "Real Catholic TV" in possible violation of Canon 216 after being told by a Bishop to cease using the term Catholic. Otherwise you're being surprisingly not angry at people, nor using the video to attack specific priests and bishops. Quite different from your usual style Michael, you should try this one more often. Ice_nine
if it's so intimately linked to the priesthood then why are the feet of lay men washed? Is that a stupid question?
Groo the Wanderer
all priests were once lay men.. out parish does it wrong too....i politely refuse to participate when they ask me if i want mine washed. would prolly need to triple the incense anyway if i took my shoes off
MissScripture
Growing up, our parish, under one priest, had anyone who wanted to coming up to wash the feet of anyone else. Even then I was confused about how that made any sense at all.
Basilisa Marie
Fun fact: The washing of the feet is the only instance where "go do this" kind of language is used, and somehow we didn't get a sacrament directly from it.
dominicansoul
in my hometown parish, they are washing the feet of little boys... not sure about that one...
PhuturePriest
I actually love Michael Voris a lot. *Hides* But in all reality, whether you love him or hate him, he is right: Washing the feet of women is in direct violation of the Catechism. Paddington
LOL, voris....
Michael Voris is my kid's soccer coach. And I've been to his Vortex, it's real nice. Maybe you shouldn't judge.

EmilyAnn
In my old parish it was only men. I don't know about my current parish, this is my first Lent here (last Lenten season I was something on the 'lapsed' side of things). The priest just said 'people' so I assume it's men and women or he assumes people know it's just men.
Parish here washes women's feet, but not my parish at home, men only there. "Some will cry about this being mean to women", not really Voris.
I thought I remembered there being something about them being asked to stop using the term Catholic. Hmmm. I find it concerning that a ministry claiming itself as "real Catholic" isn't obedient to their Bishop.

He still has stuff to clean up since being assigned to our parish.
