CatherineM
Josh asked me to update everyone since he got his permanent jail assignment. He spent time at the Unit which is the jail where they evaluate inmates. He said 80% of the inmates were the hardcore type into gang violence and homosexuality. 4 people were killed while he was there. He has now been assigned to a work camp where he gets to be outside the fence everyday cleaning the highways or parks. He gets to go to mass everyday and can receive mail, so here is his address for anyone who would like to send him a letter or card: Josh Friedman T76498 Columbia CI Work Camp J1115U 251 S. E. Corrections Way Lake City, Florida 32025 He can receive up to 5 photographs with a letter or card, and would like pictures of pretty things that give him hope of a world outside. He would also like to receive lyrics to the song Lead Me, by he thinks Sanctus Real. Finally, he would like to receive prayers, as part of the jail experience for him is to start coming to grips with the sexual abuse he suffered as a child that derailed his life. Thanks

IcePrincessKRS
Ah, I see. I recall his posts but I don't think I was ever aware of his real name. I have some photos I can share if anyone wants to use them as a post card or anything. I tend to take a lot of flowery photos in the spring. My offer of pretty photos still stands for anyone else interested in sending him something, though.
Brother Adam
Could you list your parish as the return address? It will be stamped with your city and state regardless.

CatherineM
That's a good idea to put the church's address on the outside. At least now he is in with minimum security/non-violent offenders. On the other hand, they would mostly be the financial fraud types that might enjoy some identity theft. I will say that all his mail to me has been stamped with "from a correctional institution" kind of thing. For those who don't know Lake City is half way between Tampa and Orlando. It is known as one of the best places for homeless to live.
