EmilyAnn
My class will look more like the victims in red to the right, but uglier....... Sigh. I am excited to receive the sacrament, though! A little nervous... Yes, my name is going to be Maria-Therese for St. Maria Goretti and St. Therese!!!
amesome choice. St. Maria Goretti is one of my favourite saints.
AnneLine
Agreed - and I took St. Therese ('Theresa') so we share a patroness. Edited April 1, 2012 by AnneLine

Carmelshrimp
All I can say is you must REALLY want to be confirmed to let Mr Ugly near you - wrinkly or otherwise. And if you do suddenly forget yourself and feel an overwhelming urge to wave your hands in the air and shout HALLELUJAH, remember the apocryphal advice of the priest who found himself with a charismatic visitor in his congregation. At the first burst Hallelujahs he looked over the top of his specs at the offender and remarked "Would you kindly remember that this is the house of God and not utter that word again". If your hands start to drift upwards - sit on 'em! (And have a wonderful Confirmation )

OnlySunshine
I would guess the red is for the Holy Spirit. We didn't have any color requirements for my confirmation. I don't even remember any modesty discussion, but I probably wouldn't, since my parents would have never considered letting me wear something immodest, so the lecture wouldn't have really been necessary to me.
Yeah, same here. I was confirmed almost 14 years ago (April 29th, 1998) and I don't remember any requirements for dress. I didn't really need to, either, because I was a prude growing up (still am). I wore a really pretty light floral dress with a matching sweater. It was polyester, though, and I remember being rather sweaty. I think I was nervous or something. Adam Scott
cannot wait for this. rotfl I was confirmed 8 years ago (I'm 22), and we wore white robes. They buttoned right at the neck, and when I knelt for communion it choked me! And the robe was long, so I was kneeling on it. This only made things worse. My shoes came off during Mass, too, but that's another story. Put simply, I was a mess at Confirmation. :hehe: How do I begin on the confirmation process. Tufsoles
Your robe looks like a bad graduation gown. I understand the modesty and Not everyone can afford the nice confrimation dress but there is a goodwill and the like. Also telling these kids we expect you to dress the way because it is respectful and reverent before the lord. I know Cofirmation teachers pay for these thngs. I have seen girls show up immodest and told that they couldn't get confrimed unless they covered up. A little extreme but it does get the point across.
