foundsheep
I had the honor this weekend of participating in the American Cancer Societies “Relay for Life” this past weekend. I had a great time and it was for a really good cause. I have a sister in-law who was afflicted and survived cancer in her teen years. But as I went further along in this function I really began to think about “Life”. I cannot tell you what triggered my since of reality that bit me at that moment. The title of the event began to ring in my head. “Relay for Life”. I don’t know. Should it not be called “Relay for the Living”? I realize that cancer is very unfortunate and hits people when they least expect it. I guess the answer really is “They had no choice”. All I could think in my head was selfishness. But why? If I happened to get this terrible thing called cancer, I would probably do everything in my power to live. Events that unfolded on television news began to open my eyes. 500,000 people marching upon Washington D.C. for “Choice”. A choice of whether or not to end “Life”. A choice. Even from people who chose to have sex and then use a choice to kill. What happened to “They had no choice”? “Relay for Life”. “Relay because I want to Live”. There is a difference. “It’s my body”; “We don’t want unwanted children in this world”. To those who are true to Christ and his teachings would know that there is not one single unwanted child. But one serious issue remains, Pro –Choice and Pro-Abortion (same thing) cower under the umbrella of the rape victim to get their “Birth Control”. Its time we all stop and realize what direction “Life” needs to head. It has nothing to do with someone telling you what to do with your body. And people should quit using that to make themselves feel better. It’s about the little conceived person “That had no Choice”. I am glad Mary wasn’t Pro-Choice. How about we start a new “Relay for Life”. I’m handing the baton to you, that baton is knowledge of how tragic abortion really is. I leave you in hopes that you pass it along also. cmotherofpirl
Excellent. God must be very busy here, if you float around all threads this week, many people are coming up with profound revelations. This verse keeps coming to my mind. " 'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams." Acts 2:
mamalove
There is a "Relay for Life" like you are talking about. It happens every January 22 on the steps of our nation's Capital Building. We have the cancer society "Relay for Life" here too, only in June. I'm not sure if it is the same where you are, but we walk in honor of those who have lost their lives as well. It's more than a "Relay for those who want to live." But, I love how you think!!

rachael
what irks me is the fact that pro-choice people don't realize that if their mothers had made the choice to abort, they would not be here in the first place.

Lil Red
foundsheep, wow, great post! i'm involved in my city's Relay for Life this summer, and now that you say something, a lot of the sponsors for this "Relay for Life" are also sponsors of the Planned Parenthood death rallies. We'll be praying during this event, fo' sho'
