Selah
I still have no idea what this book/movie is about.
blacksheep
I didn't like the movie. The characters were boring and bland and to be honest the deaths were very tame. There is a japanese movie similiar to this called BATTLE ROYALE. About a future where kids were rotten to the core, uncontrollable and the population was out of control. So the governement would select a group of school kids at random and pit them to a fight to the death till one is standing. There is no reward, there is no glory, it's not even televised. Just a way for the government to show a twisted sense of control. If you have the stomach for it I highly recommend it. Be warned it is over the top and crazy. But it dives into how kids would react to a situation. How they would trust or distrust certain individuals, or how they would use this opportunity to ennact their own personal vendettas. Basic human nature and the most terrible parts of teenage angst. Edited March 29, 2012 by blacksheep

My husband didn't enjoy the movie and he didn't read the book.
Aloysius
Jesus sees everything, so He's already watched The Hunger Games, like, billions of times.
Selah
Would Jesus pay $13 for a movie ticket? (Or whatever movie tickets are going for these days...back in my day it was around $7).
No, he'd probably give it to the poor and those who needed it. And no, the perfume pouring story doesn't apply here
Era Might
Any movie with Woody Harrelson has to be good.

I just thought is was very slow paced and didn't give us enough to really care about these characters. The suits of the city folk we a bit of a weird contrast. Groo the Wanderer
Since Jesus is omnipotent, He already knows the ending, so unlikely He would go see it unless Sts. Peter, John, and James were bored too and didn't wanna go fishing again.

Because I love Him
They aren't glorifying killing, in fact their doing the opposite, so since it has a good message and nothing evil is being glorified I think Jesus would see it.

Annie12
I guess what I am saying is it doesn't matter if they are glorifying killing or not. If it has killing in it people are still watching killing for entertainment. I'm just being nit picky here but it is something to think about. there are plenty of movies I have watched in the past with killing in it but I was just thinking how people these days go and pay for a movie that has killing scenes in it. It sounds like the Ancient Romans in a way (except in that real people aren't dying). Just seems weird when you think about it.
Yes, people are technically watching killing for entertainment...but there's a huge difference between watching an act of murder and getting positive feelings from it and glorifying the act, and feeling sad and disgusted. Like I said before, the movie doesn't glorify the killing in ways that most movies would today. If someone wanted to watch a movie that gave them happy feelings about people murdering each other, there are dozens of other movies that will give them those feelings. The Hunger Games is not one of them.
