i think the answer was:

Don't like murder? Don't do it.

With most of these things people assume that they harm no one (except maybe the person doing them); and that is not true.

Murder infringes on another's rights. Abortion arguably can be classified with this but none of the others can.

Groo the Wanderer

anyone can claim something is a right. anyone can twist words around to make anything an infringement on their perceived rights.

"It is my right to breathe clean air. As such it is an infringement upon my rights for 500 lb women to wear spandex jogging suits to work or for 500 lb men to wear speedos while trimming the shrubs in front of their houses. All the resultant retching pollutes the air, which takes away my rights, disenfranchises me, and forces me to accidentally vote for Pat Buchanan again."

or....'because marshmallows don;t have bones, that's why'

Answer me this question, why do people go to prison for committing crimes against themselves and themselves alone?

People like to claim drug use is a victimless crime - tell that to the people who have their lives ruined because of it, to the people who lost loved ones to it, to the countries that are ravaged because some dumb teenager wants to get high. Now try talking about taking away people's rights.

Well, aside from the part about the toll that the drug trade takes on people caught up in the drug war pverseas, which is a very legitimate point, everything here could be applied to obesity. But we don't make it illegal to be fat.

If drugs were legalized, the drug trade wouldn't be what it is.

[/quote]Would that go for all drugs, or just some drugs? If only some drugs, which ones and why?
