It's not my fault I get zealous for this sport. Either way, I'm really tired, so this debate needs to end today. Father agrees with me and with you on some points, hooray, everybody wins. cmotherofpirl
I know... Sheesh, it's like I have another mother bossing me around.
That is EXACTLY what it is. Kids are restrained from activities until they are mature enough to restrain themselves, its called self-control. Or I could just invite your mum here :D
IcePrincessKRS
Good luck?? Dearie you are talking to a grandma here, We could delete all your posts after midnight from now on. I get it that you are having a good time here, but you need to exercise a little self- restraint. I don't want to hear from your mum that a CATHOLIC website is keeping you up. Your choice. Do not mess with grandma.
Or we could just give him a 10 hour suspension each night.
I do believe in personal responsibility, yes, but personal responsibility ends when the debate begins. I am very aggressive when debating. I am pretty good at self-restraint and being responsible, but this is different with debates. Nobody makes me do my school. I choose to do it. My parents set it up like this to see if I would make the responsible choice, and I did. I'm doing school everyday and I'm learning quickly. Somehow he always got annoyed by Americans establishing solidarity with him on the grounds that their great grandmother's second husband's twice-removed cousin was Irish. I did learn that at Irish school the only recces activities available were soccer and fighting. Somehow I wasn't surprised. Are we obnoxious or something? :idk:
I think it's because some Americans get so gung-ho about it that they act like they're more Irish than the Irish. I've got no problem with being proud of our heritage, no matter what nationality it happens to be (I'm proud of all of mine). But, yeah, some of us get obnoxious about it, and for some reason those who have Irish can be especially obnoxious about it. You don't see people waltzing around saying "Yo, dude, I'm Welsh! Respek!" she_who_is_not
My idea of comfort is not running around in bra and panties. Also, I am one hundred percent sure that if a male friend saw me in spanx and an 18 hour bra, overwhelming feelings of sexual desire would not be the result. Shock, horror, and confusion? Probably. Once, when my brother-in-law was helping me fold laundry, he picked up my girdle and asked why I had nude running shorts. I explained it's purpose and the look on his face was one of both revulsion and illumination. After half an hour and a beer he responded, "That's why girls look different naked." Papist
FP, Hope you know I am just funnin' with ya. If you are truly a future priest then this is real good training for you. The abuse here is just a taste of the abuse you will receive as a priest in the real world. With your ordination comes a bulls-eye. Just remember where you cut your teeth.
