Hunger Games next week. I'm excited, Suzanne Collins was involved in the writing process, so it should be pretty solid. My only complaint is that the violence was watered down to earn a PG-13 rating. The gore is probably the most authentic thing about the series...

I saw it last night.
I haven't read the book because I can't afford to buy it and can't find an available copy to borrow.
But my friends all read it and said the movie is very faithful to the book. (Though, yes, the gore was watered down).

I thought it was very good and am now positively dying to get my hands on the books.
The only thing I can complain about for the movie is the camera. It jerks around so much, and zooms in close when it doesn't need to, giving a disjointed and shaky picture in many places, especially the beginning. I guess they figured it would give a sharp, dramatic edge, but it just made my head a hurt a bit as I tried to focus. Common mistake, though, I find lots of movies do that.
But that's it.
