dUSt
I'm not going to tell everyone what the new stuff is--I think it's fun for you to find it yourself. But, I do want to talk about one of the new options we have... ARCHIVING. What this will allow me to do is set variables around what kind of posts should be "archived". The benefits of archiving is that it will decrease the amount of posts that are being "used" by the board, which will increase performance (think of it as clearing up memory on a computer). On the front end, the only difference between normal posts and "archived" posts is that archived post cannot be posted in, liked, or followed any longer--so basically, "read only". So... What do you guys think is some good criteria for what posts should be "archived"?
Vincent Vega
I think not having any responses within a year is reasonable.
Nihil Obstat
Is there a way to archive posts without archiving an entire thread? Might make sense to archive all posts by a member who has been inactive for a year or longer.
dUSt
I think it might only apply to whole topics.
Nihil Obstat
I think it's a good idea anyway if it saves bandwidth.
truthfinder
My profile now clearly states that I don't have any warning points - that seems new.
eagle_eye222001
1 or 2 years with no replies. I like the archiving idea. If a topic is important enough, and the thread is archived, a new thread can always be made. It happens anyway.
cmaD2006
That was slow ... double post. But wait ... another something new. The editor pops right into the post that I'm editing. That's razzle dazzle! Edited March 21, 2012 by cmariadiaz
cmaD2006
Oooh. There's a "Like" tab on the Profile page ... it shows what a user has given props to.
cmaD2006
...And the quick navigation button on the main phorum page? I noticed yet another thing that I think is new ... but I should be going to sleep. Besides, it is now someone else's turn now!

homeschoolmom
I was just going to ask you if we can archive old threads.... very nice. I think threads with no new posts in one or two years would be nice.
