Jake Huether
...and the fruit she bears is the Holy Eucharist. I just had this thought coming out of confession while sitting in front of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Just like Eve gave the forbidden fruit to Adam, in a sense she was the forbidden Tree to him. But for us, Jesus, the New Adam, comes to us through the Eucharist, which is Himself. And Jesus was born of Mary. The Fruit that sustains us is Life, and He is the Eucharist. This Fruit was born of Mary. Blessed is the Fruit of your womb, Jesus! Jake Huether
i always thought of the Crucifix as the tree of life...with Christ as the fruit...the Bread of Life
You are also correct. You see, Genesis isn't saying that there exists one specific physical "thing" that is the Tree of Life. We can draw all sorts of parallels. The Church is also a figure of the Tree of Life, providing us the means to recieve Jesus in the Eucharist. And without the Church there exists no known means for Salvation. And Mary is a figure of the Church, the Spotless Bride. Mary is the Tree of Life because the Fruit of her womb is Jesus, Life itself!

StColette
St. Louis De Monfort shared the same thought that Mary is the Tree of Life. " O Holy Spirit, grant me all these graces. Plant in my soul the Tree of true Life, which is Mary; cultivate it and tend it so that it may grow and blossom and bring forth the fruit of life in abundance. " This line is taken from a prayer written by St. Louis
