cappie
Prayer to St. Thomas the Apostle(doubt) Lord Jesus, Saint Thomas doubted Your resurrection until he touched Your wounds. After Pentecost, You called him to become a missionary in India, but he doubted again and said no. He changed his mind only after being taken into slavery by a merchant who happened to be going to India. Once he was cured of his doubt, You freed him and he began the work You had called him to do. As the patron saint against doubt, I ask him to pray for me when I question the direction in which You are leading me. Forgive me for mistrusting You, Lord, and help me to grow from the experience. Saint Thomas, pray for me. Amen. Saint Joseph will always hear our prayers when doubt and discouragement fill our hearts. He knows, better than we do, what it is to feel insecure about the present and the future. When we get very tired, are nervous, feel doubtful and threatened, he will be there to encourage us to keep on or to begin again. His life teaches us that we should not be a prisoner of our anxieties; that we must go right away when the Lord calls us; that we ought to set out for unfamiliar ground with only the leading light of the heavens to show us the way. He helps us to hand ourselves over to God’s mercy, to His fatherly love, which is mighty and which, in the end, will have the last word, at the end of our individual lives and of the human journey here on earth. Memorare to St. Joseph Remember, O most chaste spouse of the Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who implored your help and sought your intercession were left unassisted. Full of confidence in your power I fly unto you and beg your protection. Despise not O Guardian of the Redeemer my humble supplication, but in your bounty, hear and answer me. Amen.
