Byzantine
What do you mean by anointing with the Holy Spirit?
At the Jordan, I suppose? Then something He said/read while reading Isaiah in the synagogue? Edited March 16, 2012 by Byzantine
Nihil Obstat
I'm a bit scattered at the moment. Initially I want to say that first of all anointing references the kingship of Christ, the Holy Spirit shows His Divinity. The Baptism references His fulfillment of Jewish law. cappie
Luke -- and God who inspired him -- wants to make very sure we don't miss the point of the descent of the Holy Spirit upon Jesus at his baptism. Jesus has always been divine, but His ministry as Messiah now begins.
