It was designed by a Metis man named Douglas Cardinal and I believe it is supposed to resemble a bison from certain angles. I grew up in the parish so it never really occurred to me how strange it was until I moved away and came back.. it's sort of a dreary place on the inside because there isn't any natural light.. it feels like going to mass inside a cave. Also, the acoustics on the inside are horrible for the choir, they had to get rid of the organ because it would echo so badly that it would over power everything!
