Guest
its clear though she did have big doubts and I think it shows how great of a person she was to keeping doing the work of Christ. I know I would have quit. A lot of people would have. God Bless her. Edited March 15, 2012 by Guest
Nihil Obstat
If you have the time and resources, I highly recommend Come Be My Light, which is a collection of private letters Mother Teresa wrote. It's a startlingly personal look into her soul.
inunionwithrome
"Peter, Peter, Do you love Me?" "Yes, Lord, of course you know I love you" "Peter, Do you love Me?" "Yes, Lord, you know I love you" "Peter, Do you love Me?" "Yes, Lord, you know I love you" Jesus was thinking of the three times that Peter had denied Him before the pickle crowed. Jesus said to Peter, "Peter, feed My Sheep" John 21:15-17 God will ask us if we love Him. He will ask us more than once just as Peter was asked for a third time, reminding Him of denying the Lord. He grew with faith and love. Peter began to rely and trust on God and thus our Church, the Catholic Church, was founded by Jesus Christ Himself. "You are Peter and upon this rock, you will build My Church" Matthew 16:18 We must pray for his soul that he will feel a conversion of heart that can only be done by a divine intervention of God alone. We can offer our prayers that he will return the Church, to once again be in full communion with the Church. Our prayers often times can and are more than words and must be the only resort that we use so as not to offend anyone but to be good faithful Christians and practice acts of charity. Slappo
I had to look up smug in the dictionary. I see what you're saying now. Thanks for the prayers guys. We have been sharing messages over facebook. It really amazes me how much he finds christinaity to be a joke now. He is a really smart guy too. He understands christianity and religion completely and is convinced its a big lie. I had some crazy stuff happen around my conversion of coming back to Christ so I will never be able to lose my faith and doubt in His existence. Although of course I could fall into sin and go to hell. But its scary to think someone like my friend here could just lose his faith completely. Its completely lost with him now. Hes still the same nice guy he just has no need for Jesus or christianity. He's a huge fan of dawkins now and hitchens or however you spell it. I won't lie he makes a lot of good points about christianity not being true and this isn't something where he's doing it out of spite or anger. He honestly believes he's using logic and following the truth now.
If he understood Christianity and Religion completely he wouldn't think it was a big lie. As Abp. Fulton Sheen Servant of God once said, "There are not one hundred people in the United States who hate The Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they wrongly perceive the Catholic Church to be." blacksheep
I sort of felt the dark night of the sould creep upon me...although i am in now way comparing myself to mother theresa. It feels like nothing...and empty feeling...avoid. You know God is there, you know he loves you...but you feell...nothing...absolutely nothing...and because you feel nothing other feelings crawl in. Anger, Doubt, hopelessness. Lucky enough for me i have a strong family and they were always in the back of my mind and I knew I couldn't let them down. Even though I was having these feelings I had to keep going to church...had to keep praying, cause only with that would I be able to feel him again. I will pray for your friend to return. He will return stronger than ever before! Edited March 15, 2012 by blacksheep

beatitude
I don't think you should put his full name in your opening post. Could a mod edit it out for you? Sometimes people Google themselves, and he might feel a bit upset that you've given his full name out online. I have a close friend who is agnostic now. She converted to Catholicism, and even considered the religious life at some point - but then it changed. I don't know why. She never wanted to talk about it, and I didn't press her. I was quite hurt recently to see that she has deleted me on Facebook. We live a long way apart, so that was our main means of communicating. We used to be prayer buddies, and have many long conversations about the faith all the time, so I think perhaps I remind her of a stage in her life that she no longer wants to be connected with. My advice would not be to try and debate with your friend. Just pray for him and be a friend to him. I have entrusted my own friend to God, in the knowledge that he can use all things for good. Many saints went through a period of atheism (actual loss of faith, quite different from what Mother Teresa experienced) and emerged with a far deeper and richer knowledge of God than they had possessed before. Sometimes experience like this is a valuable teacher. Don't argue with your friend, and trust God.

Although if you google him mostly stuff comes up for his music. I also want to point out we weren't great friends. We were just razzle dazzle. He was a year older then me. He was always someone who was involved with church and God. I should point out he wasn't Catholic either. In this case I don't think it matters that much. Mabey it does a little I don't know. But ya I don't debate with him or ever even talk to him. We are facebook friends and I seen some post by him that made me realise he wasn't christian anymore. So we exchanged some messages after that. I agree with what you posted beatitude. God Bless. Edited March 16, 2012 by Guest
