Guest
So during this lent I have found myself talking to atheist or agnostics who remind me the Bible is nothing but a fairy tale. The most shocking conversation was with a guy I knew from school. This kid was on fire for God and always involved in church activities and what not. This was from 8th grade til as far as I can remeber. Even after school he was involved and always focused on God. He's a musician and used to play in the church. His name is Andrew Varner. He actually just got one of his songs played on a episode of the real world. It was called left overs and re-runs. Really razzle dazzle guy and a good person. Anyhow he tells me he's an atheist now. I was shocked. lol Not in a judgemental or condescending kind of way but just shocked in that he could of lost his faith completly after so many years of following God. Say a prayer for him if you want. I don't fear for his soul or any croutons like that because I know God is just and will not send someone to hell for only being an atheist. I do though fear he's been attacked by satan cause he was so loyal to God and followed Him all through his youth. Satan had to hate that. fides' Jack
I will pray for him, and I think you should, too. Don't be smug in anyone's salvation.

Guest
I had to look up smug in the dictionary. I see what you're saying now. Thanks for the prayers guys. We have been sharing messages over facebook. It really amazes me how much he finds christinaity to be a joke now. He is a really smart guy too. He understands christianity and religion completely and is convinced its a big lie. I had some crazy stuff happen around my conversion of coming back to Christ so I will never be able to lose my faith and doubt in His existence. Although of course I could fall into sin and go to hell. But its scary to think someone like my friend here could just lose his faith completely. Its completely lost with him now. Hes still the same nice guy he just has no need for Jesus or christianity. He's a huge fan of dawkins now and hitchens or however you spell it. I won't lie he makes a lot of good points about christianity not being true and this isn't something where he's doing it out of spite or anger. He honestly believes he's using logic and following the truth now. Edited March 15, 2012 by Guest

Guest
I think these are the people satan goes after the hardest. Just like he did Mother Teresa and attacked her faith. Edited March 15, 2012 by Guest

Of course we pray and hope that your friend will find his way back to the Church, but personally I have a hard time seeing a knowing, professing and militant atheist (if he is devoid of mental illness) as an accident not demanding of judgement. Of course I will pray though God bless! Edited March 15, 2012 by SaintOlaf
Guest
@ saint olaf I wouldn't say he's militant. He's not shoving it down anyones throat. Its jsut what he believes now. He's lost his faith in Christ and God. He considers himself atheist. Because he doesn't believe anymore. I'm not sure what you mean by it not being an accident ? I think its simply he lost his faith 100 percent. Its documented Mother Teresa had no faith right ? Although to her credit she never stopped being Catholic and being a great woman of God. But satan stole her faith. God Bless her soul by the way. Pray for us Mother Teresa ! Edited March 15, 2012 by Guest

[/quote] My fault for attributing to him something that he's not then, apologies I think what Mother Teresa lost was a confirmation of her faith. If you read her story, she very much had positive affirmations from the spirit for a number of years before beginning her order. Soon after she lost those affirmations and was forced to rely exclusively on her faith. Her reliance on that faith is what caused her to persevere in her mission and in her Catholic life. Correct me if I'm wrong on this Prayers, DB!
