OnlySunshine
Today was not so good. I called the childcare director early this morning (2+ hours before my shift) to tell her that I was running a fever, coughing/gagging, stuffy, and achy. Because it was after the 8pm call limit, she told me to come in at my normal time and she would find someone to cover for me later. I got in at 8:45am and didn't leave until 10:30am. Before I left, she pulled me aside and spoke to me privately about whether or not I still wanted to work there and, if I didn't, to let her know so she could find someone to fill my position. Of course, I told her no such thing. I do love working there, however, the stress of the new job, plus the children spreading germs is causing me to be sick. Tomorrow will be my 2 week anniversary, so I still have 2 weeks to go until my immunity helps protect me. I went to the urgent care today after work and was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection. I have a strong antibiotic that should start working immediately. I also bought some cough syrup and got an asthma inhaler. Please pray that everything settles down. I do not want to lose my job over my poor immune system. It took me a while to find this job so I don't want to go through that again. Thank you.
