There is a difference, though, between wearing a crucifix and wearing a hijab. I can't wear any overt jewelry at work. If I wanted to wear a necklace, I'd have to wear it under my shirt, crucifix or whatever. But it does set a dangerous precedent. As the article says,

This could be a symptom of a greater issue at work here.

I don't see how they determine what are and are not 'core' religious beliefs. I mean if the woman said that this wasn't a core belief then that is one thing. But absent that how would they determine what is and is not a *core* component to any religion?

Obama doesn't attack religion. He doesn't care about religion. He wants obedience to the State because it knows what is best. It's nothing personal, guys.

The only solution, without the USA ceasing to be the USA, is for the government to not be involved, at all.

More and more the government is trying to define and control the religions it is supposed to protect.

This did not occur in the US.

A fact that I missed, but does not change the accuracy of my statement, as I was speaking in general terms.

The government is not supposed to protect religion. It is supposed to enact no law respecting (concerning) an establishment of religion nor prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

Exactly - read: "protect religion".

I'm glad you agree with me! :)
