rhetor4christ
You and the folks helping you with all of this are in my prayers. Good grief, I can't believe that any of this would happen! How did you come by this renter to begin with? My prayers are with him too, despite his satanic beliefs and practices. He needs help, and badly. I wonder if he's mentally okay (i.e., if he has a legitimate mental illness)? When I was 17, we had an exorcism done in our house. I get chills just remembering that weekend. CatherineM
He wasn't a renter. We live in a small 12 unit, 3 story condo building. He has lived upstairs for over 20+ years. He inherited the place from an aunt. He lost his marriage, he became alienated from his kids, lost jobs repeatedly until he had burned his bridges with every construction company in town, and now has lost his home. We tried 3 years ago to get him on disability for his depression, but he refused our help. Said the $1600/month wasn't enough money. To live here, all he needed was about $400/month for his condo fees, taxes and utilities. That's cheap in this town. I almost got the feeling that he didn't want to accept help because then he couldn't say the whole world was against him.

In the meantime, it sounds like the place is getting back to the right condition it should be in, full of love and God.

CatherineM
I had no idea he was doing all that stuff up there. We knew he was depressed and floundering and drinking himself to death. We hope we have found the last of the "surprises" upstairs. He had a bunch of school lockers in the second bedroom, and one had a lock on it. got it open today, and it contained the usual old bills and paperwork kind of stuff, but it also contained a tooth. A large decayed one that was wrapped in bubble wrap. I wonder if it had something to do with the voodoo doll. I buried it. Could have been worse. Since he had all those surgery books and home wild game processing books, I half expected a locker with serial killer trophies in it.

CatherineM
He's almost finished with painting the ceiling. He freaked out when he saw that the paint was pink. I had to explain that it dries white and the pink is to help you keep from missing spots.

AnneLine
I know this is the internet, and we need to preserve Zack's space & anonymity, but I wish we could see him in his Cadet uniform and I wish we could see the newly blessed, shining, and HOLY house when it is finished. Just dreaming....and so happy for him....
CatherineM
He said it was okay to show his picture. I don't have a picture since he got his stripes. This is Zack and the hubby, who is almost 6'5", so I definitely feel like a dwarf at only 5'10"

I am 5'4", too, and married into a very tall family. My husband (6'6") and his dad are the tallest.
