Even if you're educated it doesn't mean you know it as well as he does. He's obviously very well educated in it as well, as he knows the exact dates and how it is not in chronological order. If you've been so well taught you should've seen the quotes that literally say to kill all infidels.
How is that obvious? Because he was at ground zero? That means nothing in terms of knowledge about Muhammad or Islamic science. I have read the 'verse of the sword' (the verse I assume that you're talking about). It has never been interpreted to mean to kill all non-believers. That doesn't mean that the Qur'an advocated pacifism. But it doesn't advocate the wholesale slaughter of all non-Muslims everywhere. It has never been interpreted that way.

So I guess you accept moral responsibility for the Croatian Ustashi government and the atrocities comitted against Serbs by Catholic Croats in the Balkans.
I'm not too familiar with Islam, but there is a distinction between (A) a religion that commands its followers to kill non-believers and (B) followers of a peaceful religion who kill non-believers.

No, it doesn't. But he's obviously been educated in Islam. Someone that is uneducated in it cannot say what he says, because someone would have to know about it to say what he says. He doesn't just say "Muslims are evil". He says their belief system is corrupt and gives reasons for his stance on it. I have doubts that you even read the entire thing.

I wouldn't know if this is the verse because I have never read the Quran. However, there is a difference between being taught about Islam from real Muslims and being taught by your standard politically correct college professor.

Jesus lol I'm the one who's thick ? You've been here how many years and you're still not catholic ? No salvation outside the True Church. That conscience is gotta be getting close to 100 percent now a days. Peace bro.

As someone who is actually qualified to speak in regards to J_lol, I'd charitably suggest that you keep examinations of conscience limited to your own.

I have a lot of Muslim friends. Some of them are quite strict in their interpretations or come from very conservative families. None of the reading I mentioned was in the context of a class by any politically correct professor. Nor does your argument make any sense sense I specifically mentioned reading Seyyed Qutb, a man who did advocate the unending war against 'unbelief.' He was executed by the Egyptian government for his radicalism. He is the intellectual godfather of Al-Queda. He is the sort who believed that Saudi Arabia made deeply immoral compromises with 'unbelief' and was nowhere near radical enough to be considered an Islamic state.

Nothing in the ramblings of the man you cited evidenced any particular understanding of Islam beyond some basic cursory knowledge that could be attained after reading wikipedia for 10 minutes . I have already pointed out why. To claim that Usama Bin Laden is just 'following his religion' is false. Even if you have a negative view of Islam that is clearly false. Bin Laden was a religious innovator.

When you've dated him for a year and a half, been his best friend and confidante, and want to spend the rest of your life with him, then you get to comment on his conscience. Up until that point, I'd thank you to stick to speaking about your own.

Edit to Hassy: my apologies for the hijack, my friend.

This thread lost its purpose a while ago.

How are you doing, by the way? Also, have you ever read Ambrose Bierce?

I wasn't aware that Catholics had a moral responsibility to run Catholic affiliated hospitals. There is a mandate to care for the poor but not to that specificity.
Lolwut? Please don't tell me you seriously think this just has to do with Catholic hospitals... and please don't tell me you think the accounting gimmick that they came out with after the uproar solves any problems what so ever.

Catholics have a moral obligation to provide for their family. Providing for their family requires having a job in most cases. Providing for their family also requires having health insurance in many cases. Now to have health insurance it has to provide contraceptive services. Now a Catholic cannot purchase a health insurance plan unless it provides contraceptive care.

Yes or no the Koran teaches if you don't convert you are put to death ? There is a Christian Pastor right now who they are about to hang cause He won't convert. Why would I want to read this book ?
As someone who has actually read the entire Qur'an, I'm not going to give your opinions about what it says any credit until you read it. Books say things. People teach and interpret. Why would you want to read this book? I could think of a few reasons involving its beauty and historical significance, but I'm getting the feeling those may not interest you.
