I'm sorry but even though this state that I live in is crazy... you have to love it.
If you feel comfortable... please post if you are at least three hours in reach of the "Big Apple"... I am about three hours away from the city, and yet it is so much like home... I can get around there without any worries. :)

MissScripture

I do not like NYC at all. Because of NYC gov't, my brother's family was without gas to their apt for 3 months, so they had no hot water or stove/oven or heat. They went camping so they could take hot showers. Lol

Did State Farm obtain the permission of the Naudet brothers to use their 9/11 documentary as part of a commercial?

And going there next week for conference!

Out on that until you people quit electing scumbag tyrants like Bloomberg.

MissScripture, the same thing happened to my aunt with the gas. She lived in Harlem, in the worst part. She was constantly visiting us. I also don't like NYC too much because my uncle almost got killed in 911, he took track and his boss new that and told him to run, and for heaven's sake he did and he was the last passenger to board the last ferry leaving! I'm always nervous to go there because of 911... but I've gotten over the fear, I have to because we are constantly traveling for dad's business trips.

Winchester, I'm not old enough to vote... I've got six years until I have my say in it and my parents do not vote for the :censored: like Bloomberg. We are Conservatives, Pro-Life and Hardcore Catholics. So I suggest not saying much about it to me because I've got a hot temper and you don't want to get it going because my big brown eyes get a spark in them... and pow... you'll get a lot of typing in fluent Spanish. Oh and no we are not illegal immigrants just because we are Spanish. Okay I'll be quiet now.... That's all. :|

BG, you could visit the sisters for me... if you just go into Queens village... go to QOP, page Sr. Mary Grace and tell her I love her and miss her... you will be my best friend ever! :P
Have safe travels!

Oh and I don't live where it looks like the city.... we have twenty acres of land with a pool, and tons and tons of wildflowers and trees to climb, and a fun hill to sled down! :)

Um, one thing ya'll should remember is that here, we have the very big worry of attacks on NYC... like 911... but Indy, Kentucky, Alabama just got hit with tornadoes. A girl I know is killed because of them, another avvesome friend is seriously hurt, and I know many kids around there who are hurt on the inside because of loss friends, family, houses and little Religious articles they used to have. I'm happy I live here where we sometimes get tornado watches... but our houses aren't plowed to the ground by whirling funnels and hurricanes don't wash us out. In the country, we are actually quite safe. :|

Haha, I'd not mind doing it if I weren't on such a constricted schedule. Tuesday night I get there and check in and I'm going to try to get some last minute cheap tickets to a show. Wednesday morning I'm headed down to the 9/11 memorial and in the afternoon I'm hanging out with a PMer I've chatted with for years. Thursday morning I have a professional breakfast, Thursday lunch is an alumni luncheon, Thursday afternoon is the panel I'm chairing, Thursday evening is a dinner by a textbook company. Friday morning I'm leaving on the bus back to here! :)

thanks for the well wish of safe travels! It hopefully will be, and I hope to get a lot done on the bus also!

Don't put it out in public, if you don't want a response. New York is good for food, but its laws are croutons. It's a wretched hive of scum and villainy.

My grandma kept trying to blame the landlord and kept telling my brother to report him, because according to her, he was a "slum lord" because they didn't have gas. We explained to her multiple times that it wasn't the landlord's fault, it was because the city was insanely slow on issuing work permits and sending inspectors, and with the speed they were moving on that, it's doubtful they would've done anything about a complaint against a landlord, anyway! (And they aren't the best landlords, but they're not intentionally ignoring major problems or anything.)

My aunt and uncle live in upstate NY. That was beautiful!

Oh, the 9/11 memorial is sad and beautiful. It was hard for me to see.

Sounds like you have a very restricted schedule! When I go down there... it is usually with my cousins and we walk around stopping in stores, munching on street vendor pretzels, and crossing the crowded streets while yelling, "Ahhh, human road kill!" (yes people grin at us when we do that) :)

Hahaha. That would be so funny to see her face if you just showed up and said that. Goodness I miss that little lady with her antics who was always getting her habit dirty, and who actually allowed us to go in the convent with her to carry stuff up in the nuns' chapel... :hehe:

I feel extremely young! ;)

No... it is the government... the land lords don't help... but seriously they are taking away our freedom and all that stuff. :ohno:

Yup it is beautiful up here. It would be so funny if they were our neighbors... :)

Joking, I understand. Just didn't expect such an interesting response from 'ya earlier. :)
