the_rev
Dear phriends, I have a photo that I would like to have extremely altered/photoshopped, but I am not sure if it is even possible. In this photo there are four people, it is a group photo, and I would like to delete one person completely from the photo. My question is, do you think this would be possible and if so, would the picture look ok after the said photoshopping? Thanks, the_rev P.S. If someone does think this is possible, would anyone consider helping me out and attempt this major editing? EmilyAnn
It sounds highly improbable. I would think you'd need the exact background to layer once you removed the person and if the people were interlinked, for example arm around shoulder, overlapping, etc. then that could also be a problem. I'm no expert, this is just from seeing my sister's work, but I'd say it's a pretty tall order.
GeorgiiMichael
It's possible. But it's very difficult to do well. You'd need a very good photoshop artist to be able to do it. I know it's possible, I've seen it done. Even before photoshop, people were erased from photographs. Josef Stalin had all kinds of people erased from history (or at least he tried to erase them from history) and part of his process in doing this was erasing people completely from photographs. fides' Jack
It is very difficult to do well. I've done it, but there are probably others here that could do it better.
Cherie
I have a friend who is an amazing photographer. She does great things with Photoshop and, although it depends on how the person is situated in the photo, I'm sure she could do it. PM me if you need help, I can pass it on to her. arfink
It's completely possible to do. I don't have the skills to do it, but really it's not so much about what the software can do, but what the artist can do. You'll need to reconstruct in a photo realistic style, the "background" that will be occupying the place your person used to.
IcePrincessKRS
Yup, what the others said. It's possible but hard. I did it once, not very well, but good enough since it wasn't a close up, and it was a large group of people, the missing one was easy to dismiss. I won't offer to do it myself because I know I'm not good at it, but I'd take up Seven's offer.
