i<3LSOP
Lisa, those are some really cute bathing suits! Are there any stores you know of that sell teen/tween modest one piece bathing suits? The ladies bathing suits are to big for me in the bustline and hip area but I'm tall so it creates a problem.

rhetor4christ
This site: http://www.evansusa.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/TopCategoriesDisplay?storeId=13072&catalogId=34086 has a lot of nice things for us ladies who aren't a size 4 or 6 or 8 Some things can be pricey, but other things are reasonable (especially if you aren't growing any more!) I may buy a new one-piece suit from there with some of my tax refund check
inunionwithrome
Dress Barn too also will have modest clothing. I would highly suggest a secondhand/thriftstore for the budget conscience too. It doesn't mean the clothes aren't nice, it just means that people no longer need them. And, you get more bang for the buck

beatitude
Recently I've started to realise that modesty is not just about the length of your skirt, but about simplicity and considerateness more generally. If you are spending a lot of money on modest things, can they really be called modest? If you buy your stuff from places that rely on sweatshop labour or other inhuman working conditions (most big chain stores are guilty of this), then is that modest? Modesty requires you to think beyond yourself. So I have started to get as many of my things as possible from places like Goodwill. If you sift through the racks you can usually find some really nice modest things, they're cheap, and the money is supporting a good cause. eBay is also useful - I've found brand-new dresses on there at a fraction of their original price. [/quote] I think this makes a good point. I know I used to buy Arizona jeans all through my teens, because they were cheap and fit okay. But they're so cheap because Arizona relies on sweatshop labor. If those were the only jeans I could really afford, that'd be one thing. But we all should do what we can. I'm not sure if it would rightly be categorized under modesty, but it's definitely part of a greater idea of being a decent human being and trying to follow the parts of Catholic Social Teaching that are easy to ignore. I usually will spend extra money on a few versatile basics that will last a long time, while my sister will spend just as much money and get twice as many clothes at a second hand store.
