Louie
So what about my question about Mary? I really want to try find someone who will actually answer that because so far everyone's failed.
What are you asking here concerning Mary? I'm missing something here. Archaeology cat
pray (third-person singular simple present prays, present participle praying, simple past and past participle prayed) 1To petition or solicit help from a supernatural or higher being. 2To humbly beg a person for aid or their time. 3(religion, Christianity, Judaism, Islam) to talk to God for any reason. When speaking of praying to Saints, we are using the 2nd definition listed. When praying to God, we are using the 3rd. Just a note. Others have already said why we ask the Saints in Heaven to pray for us in addition to asking those on earth to pray.
EmilyAnn
What are you asking here concerning Mary? I'm missing something here.
It stemmed from the original point about asking Mary to pray for us. Because if we ask those on this earth to pray for us, then why not those who are already with Christ? The followers of Christ are one body with Him and even those who are dead to this life are still alive in Him. They are already with Him in His eternal presence, if our brothers and sisters on this earth who are still separated from Him can pray for us then surely those who are already with Him can.
I don't know about any of you...but there are times when I am so perplexed so overwhelmed by things that I just can't focus for prayer...there are times that the principalities and powers of this world have boggled my brain that I cannot even think straight and so I go to my brothers and sisters and ask them for prayer...James 5:13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
I completely agree that the prayers of our brothers and sisters in Christ can be invaluable.
