I don't know about any of you...but there are times when I am so perplexed so overwhelmed by things that I just can't focus for prayer...there are times that the principalities and powers of this world have boggled my brain that I cannot even think straight and so I go to my brothers and sisters and ask them for prayer.
I do that too, and I know how it feels. So I go to them for help, living or "dead"

So what about my question about Mary? I really want to try find someone who will actually answer that because so far everyone's failed.

What are you asking here concerning Mary? I'm missing something here.

We need each other, don't we? :) That's what the Body of Christ is all about.

pray (third-person singular simple present prays, present participle praying, simple past and past participle prayed)
1To petition or solicit help from a supernatural or higher being.
2To humbly beg a person for aid or their time.
3(religion, Christianity, Judaism, Islam) to talk to God for any reason.

When speaking of praying to Saints, we are using the 2nd definition listed. When praying to God, we are using the 3rd. Just a note. Others have already said why we ask the Saints in Heaven to pray for us in addition to asking those on earth to pray.

It stemmed from the original point about asking Mary to pray for us. Because if we ask those on this earth to pray for us, then why not those who are already with Christ? The followers of Christ are one body with Him and even those who are dead to this life are still alive in Him. They are already with Him in His eternal presence, if our brothers and sisters on this earth who are still separated from Him can pray for us then surely those who are already with Him can.

Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
I completely agree that the prayers of our brothers and sisters in Christ can be invaluable.

Under thy protection we seek refuge, Holy Mother of God; despise not our petitions in our needs, but from all dangers deliver us always, Virgin Glorious and Blessed
(This prayer dates back to 250 AD)

The Protection of the Mother of God.

The feast day celebrates the appearance of the Mother of God at Blachernae (Vlaherna) in the tenth century. At the end of St. Andrei(Andrew of Constantinople) Yurodivyi's life, he, with his disciple St. Epiphanius, and a group of people, saw the Mother of God, St. John the Baptist, and several other saints and angelsduring a vigil in the Church of Blachernae, nearby the city gates. The Blachernae Palace church was where several of her relics were kept. The relics were her robe, veil, and part of her belt that had been transferred from Palestine during the fifth century.
The Theotokos approached the center of the church, knelt down and remained in prayer for a long time. Her face was drowned in tears. Then she took her veil (cerement) off and spread it over the people as a sign of protection. During the time, the people in the city were threatened by a barbarian invasion. After the appearance of the Mother of God, the danger was averted and the city was spared from bloodshed and suffering.
