IcePrincessKRS
Ok, help me out. What does it mean by asking to have Mary's soul and spirit?
I'm not sure... what is the full context of the reference? My first thought would be that we want to have our souls as like hers as possible.
Lil Red
Well, Mary was reflected on her sorrows in her heart, she was humble, she was pious, she trusted God. I would think we all would do well to have her soul & spirit in all things. my two (unlearned) cents, anyway.
Archaeology cat
Thanks. What I was figuring, but always good to ask. Icey, I don't have the prayer in front of me,but it was saying something about asking to haveno other sul or spirit but Mary's. A, found it: "Finally, dearly beloved Mother, grant, if it be possible, that I may have no other spirit but thine to know Jesus and His divine will; that I may have no other soul but thine to praise and glorify the Lord; that I may have no other heart but thine to love God with a love as pure and ardent as thine". S yeah, thinking what you said applies. Iwas tired when I was reading it. Lol
Immanuel
Playing catch-up. I have to admit to sometimes still being a bit weirded out by it all, but rationally I'm razzle dazzle with it, if that makes sense.
I'm playing catch up too. I knew this would happen. I'm not giving up, though
Lil Red
here's a great article from Mark Shea: http://www.ncregister.com/blog/mark-shea/a-reader-s/
let_go_let_God
I've been doing pretty well. I'm actually wishing I had the book over my phone app but, it works. I almost had a night when I forgot, was falling asleep and I woke my husband up as I yelled "I forgot my prayers" loud enough to probably wake the neighbors and switched on the light. I also figure that the reminders were erased by someone in the office who has access to my parish work calendar because they didn't see them as necessary, not the first time I've lost my notes that way. "Oh there are duplicates, let me erase this one that doesn't make sense," *grumble grumble* Oh well I look at it as a way to make sure I'm doing it on my own rather than trying to force a habit. One question though, once the 33 days of consecration are complete is it wrong to go back and restart it again? I'm learning a lot from this experience and I am glad to finally become closer to Mother Mary but, I don't want to forget why I've done all this. It's really hard for me to explain at the moment but I want to continue to commit myself to her because, I'm a human with a lousy memory. God bless- LGLG
Lil Red
Today starts Part III - Knowledge of Mary. I find this part the hardest, because of praying a 5 Decade rosary every day is hard to fit in.

IcePrincessKRS
I, guiltily, am glad it's only part of the prayers for this week. It's the hardest for me, too. I managed to get most of it done while I swept and mopped today, but it didn't leave any room for meditation of any sort. I just figured Mary had to sweep and mop, too, so she understands. TheresaThoma
I'm doing ok with it, I just have to remember to not put it off until I am really tired. I have been known to fall asleep while praying the rosary before bed.

Adrestia
I had decided to do a rosary every day for Lent before I decided to do the consecration, so it's no extra work for me. I almost have the Ave Maris Stella memorized. The podcast helps me a lot!
