Wow, my first " CRAZY DOPE POST, YO! "

Thank you!

I uploaded a copy of the same file on Mediafire for those who might have some difficulty downloading from Esnips. Please visit the same thread I had previously linked to in my above post to get the link to the file on Mediafire.

Couple of questions I have for y'all regarding the consecration. One, I have two different versions of the Montfort book. The daily readings are different in both... is there a specific set of readings that have to be made for a valid consecration. The book I've been using's readings don't quite align with my other book and some of the online readings that I've found. My book is published by a legitimate Catholic Marian religious order so I'm a little confused.

Second, I began today's readings yesterday (the 23rd) in the evening but then got confused about my 2 books. I decided to just continue as is but when I glanced at my clock, I realized it was 12:14 am... does this mean I have to start over on the next possible day? I immediately continued the readings...

Thanks!

I forgot to say it, but I'm in. I have a daily reminder on my phone so I say it at about the same time every day.

God bless-

That is a great idea to put a reminder on your phone. I typically do mine either after my morning prayers or before evening prayer.

Since the Total Consecration has the Magnificat in it, I figured that noon would be a good time to say it. Also, unfortunately I live by my phone, schedules and dates and reminders, texts phone calls, I cant usually keep my office day straight if I don't have my phone timing me. It's an idea my confessor really pressed into me. If I live by my "schedule" why not schedule God into my day too?

God bless-

I may not be qualified to answer your question, but I'll try anyway.

From "http://totalconsecration.ageofmary.com/"

Be Not Afraid

By making this consecration to Mary, you are placing yourself completely and totally in her hands. You are giving her permission to form you, discipline you, and mold you into a true follower of Christ. Do not be afraid, though, because she loves you. She will always take care of you, and knows better than anybody how to do so. It is always good to remember her words to St. Juan Diego in Mexico, "Hear and let it penetrate into your heart, my dear little son: let nothing discourage you, nothing depress you: let nothing alter your heart or your countenance. Also do not fear any illness or vexation, anxiety or pain. Am I not here who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not your fountain of life? Are you not in the folds of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms? Is there anything else that you need?"

--------

I take this to mean that a little confusion about which prayers to pray during the first few days will not invalidate the consecration provided that the intent is to give yourself over to the process.

I find myself wanting to re-read the readings from Imitation of Christ a lot.

I do find it to be a good book. Why is he not considered a saint yet (Thomas Kempis)?

I haven't missed a day yet, so I'm winning in my book! lol It wouldn't be as big a deal if I did since this isn't my first run through, but I still want to do it all.

I'm doing good :) I did end up doing one at 12:15am also... but other than that I've been good at remembering :)
Yeah, most of mind end up being after midnight... It's before I go to bed though, so I'm hoping it still counts. :P That said, I haven't missed yet!
