I am probably taking my mom out to breakfast...or making her breakfast...which ever she wants.

Ok, so this sounds kinda corny, but I had to write a Mother's Day poem for my poetry class so I'm gonna put that in the form of a card with an old picture of the two of us on it and make it look real pretty and stuff and I'm surprising her by driving all the way home to see her. :flowers:

I'm sorry, but I'm really not looking forward to this Mother's Day, and I dread seeing Mother's Day ads and getting Mother's Day spam in my mailbox.

I'm buying flowers for Mom, and putting them at her grave.

It's the first without her here.

Gulp... :sadder: I am so sorry. I feel lousy for venting. I love my mom very much and dread the thought of her not being with me. I called her earlier. We are going to lunch and a movie on Saturday. Thanks, Ash Wednesday for the slap in the face I needed. I really do love my mom.

And I'm sorry about your loss...

No apologies necessary. Enjoy your moms this Mother's Day. I'm thankful that I always did, and that our relationship was truly a wonderful one.

[COLOR=blue]I'm not quite sure what to do since the mom i have isn't my real mom. she is my step-mom (actually i dunno what to call her since she actually hasn't adopted me and won't because i don't want her to). my real mom died and my dad got re-married to her. unfortunately she and i don't get along too well because she married my dad and well he doesn't spend much time with me or my sister any more and that and when my dad wasn't married i pretty much had to raise my sister and well she thinks she can just take over. that and she wants me to call her mom and i can't and won't just because she isn't and she doesn't really try to be. i dunno what to do. i've tried to be nice and i've prayed about it but i dunno. she's been a little nicer but not too much

Maybe....
Pray for your real mom, and perform an act of charity towards your stepmom, in honor of everyone's mother.... the Blessed Mother?

I know my best friend had to deal with that, too -- stepmoms and all. Other people I know aren't on speaking terms with their moms either. I guess in such situations we can maybe at least honor the Blessed Mother, who will pray for us in return.
