Guest Guest
Recently there was a "Spiritual Bouquet" for offering up Masses, Eucharist, Our Fathers, Hail Mary's etc. How do you "Offer up" your Eucharist for an intention? Or a Mass? Do you have to buy a Mass specifically or just "remember them?" I just want to know how to offer them up. thanx.
Pontifex
At most local parishes you can offer a mass stipend so that a Mass may be offered for your loved one. It is ususally a very minimal offering of 5 or 10 dollars. You can contact your parish office for that information. If you have trouble coming up with that money, than explain that to them. In a Spiritual way, I always tell people to really meditate and think about the invitation that the Priest gives close to the beginning of the Liturgy of the Eucharist. He asks the assembly to "Lift up Your Hearts". And all respond, "We lift them up to the Lord." At that moment I tell people to consciously offer up all that is within their hearts. If it is a deceased loved one then think of them at that time or offer up all the grief, pain, or suffering at that invitation. Many people find this beneficial to their prayer. Peace, Fr.
