Creative Catholics

Not saying everyone isn't creative but just wondering if there are any catholics here who love to draw, paint, sculpt, design. Anyone else have or aquiring a degree in art? Would love to meet them and see their work, share ideas and so forth. You all can find my illustrative stuff on masterfulmind.deviantart.com. warning...it's not all sunshine and rainbows.

I tend to be what many artists would call a "hack." No formal training at all, and no intention of doing so, I just pick up whatever is at hand and start doodling. These ones were done with a Wacom tablet:

I recently began experimenting with chalk pastels, and I really like those except they're super messy.

Pastels are pretty amesome! Some great blending and nice soft edges. I love my tablet. It took me a while to adjust to the disassoiation of the screen and my hand but after a while I got very use to it. It's my primary art tool aside from pencil and paper...mainly due to the fact it's less messy, cost isn't much and I don't have to wait for it to dry or set.

I really dig the sombrero pic and the Get sleep one is very etherial...I think thats the right word...

I also like how pastels have super-poppin-bright colors, especially on dark paper. You can blend them with q-tips or just blow off the excess for sharper lines. Fun stuff. I made all my Valentines with pastels this year, I should photograph them for you guys.

The wacom is basically my favorite tool though. I use mine with a program called MyPaint, which IMO is the best program for just free-hand painting and drawing. It's got some pretty realistic simulations for various mediums and you can design your own brushes and effects if you know the scripting language. I haven't bothered, the ones that come with it are more than adequate. http://mypaint.intilinux.com/

I am not creative in the least. Not from scratch anyway; I'm better at editing what's given to me.

But dude... You are crazy talented. :notworthy2:

I especially like your goblins, and your fish, and well, just everything really.
