MissScripture
So, my husband got a bonus at work and wants me to use some of the money to buy myself something. But idk what I want. He said it can't be anything I need, it needs to be something fun. If you had $100 to spend on anything, what would you buy?
Lilllabettt
i'd buy a newspaper subscription - Sunday new york times, something like that. Pure frivolous pleasure in weekly doses.
Luigi
You can choose from two broad categories - something permanent or something consumable. Something permanent and indulgent would be jewelry - a nice pendant, or earrings, or whatever. If you buy it now, it will always remind you of the year Peanut was born. Now for consumables. As popular as CHOCOLATE is on this board, I doubt you'd want $100 worth of chocolate (although I've been wrong about bigger things than that!). I will recommend an idea stolen from a friend of mine; when she has a baby, her mother-in-law takes her out for a 'spa day' kind of thing - hair styling, nails, massage, followed by nice lunch. My friend loves this tradition because it makes her feel like she's recovering from the inconveniences & discomforts of pregnancy. Think for yourself, but those are my suggestions. rhetor4christ
I like the idea of a spa day. So relaxing! I've seen a recent trend of mothers wearing necklaces that have their child's name on it.

i<3LSOP
I would invest in chocolate. No so seriously I think for me I'd get an ipod... or a pretty writing paper set so that when I write friends and nuns I'm not using boring lined paper. Or you could buy diapers for John Paul. Ed Normile
You could just send it to me and recieve the experience of the joy of giving, or you could just take your hubby out to a nice restaurant and have a great evening together. ed

Lisa
I love you, LSOP, but please, MS, don't buy diapers! One, I know (from being a total creeper on the RSH thread) that you are using cloth, and two, I'm of the opinion that new moms absolutely deserve a little self-indulgence. You'll be buying stuff for John Paul for the next 18+ years. That being said, Luigi is a genius.

Using cloth, I find some really, ridiculously cute diapers. I get really excited about what goes on my baby's butt to catch his poo. One thing I might get is this: http://www.amazon.com/Parents-Need-Eat-Too-Nap-Friendly/dp/0062005944/ref=wl_it_dp_o_npd?ie=UTF8&coliid=I8YIYOEL4HKWY&colid=1RZ73GN4M3K0Q since I've discovered it's really hard to eat when there isn't someone else cooking it for me.But that still leaves me quite a bit of money.
