LinaSt.Cecilia2772
So I'm going to be the sappy, romantic, and goo goo ga ga girl that I am and say that I love all chick-flicks whether they be sad, funny, happy, sappy, cheesy, cute, adorable, attractive actors, etc. But I hate them because I blame them for my high expectations of relationships because I know 85-90% of the plots probably won't happen in real life. And it makes me feel all "bleh" (don't even know if that's a real adjective) because my complicated "love life" I guess is annoying the croutons outta me because it's all really confusing a little heart-breaking. All this chick-flick talk is because I just saw "The Vow" with my mommy for mommy-daughter time, and I loved the movie but they make me all "bleh" inside. So that was the end of my chick-flick rant. arfink
As a guy, I pretty much detest all chick-flicks. Sorry. If they can make a chick flick that also has swordfighting, ninjas, aerial combat, gun fights, spies fighting with ballpoint pens, explosions, more explosions, and explosions then I'd probably be able to watch it. Oh wait, it's called every James Bond movie. I didn't like those either.
rhetor4christ
Chick-flicks, I've always thought, were purely based on fantasy. Kinda this idea that Hollywood keeps making them because the relationships in those movies, largely, don't exist in real life. As long as I'm able to keep straight what is real and what isn't, I find that I'm able to enjoy some of these movies for what they are: fiction
LinaSt.Cecilia2772
I love action movies too, but they have to be good ones. The Bourne Series is like my all time fave. hahaha I just love movies. But I honestly don't know where chick-flicks fall on the list of my favorite movies. rhetor4christ
I could even take this a step further and point us to most Disney movies. What are little girls and boys taught at very young ages? In some cases (not all), children's movies paint unrealistic views of love, life and happiness. You're right. It is sad. Especially when a certain someone that has always come back in my life in one way or another is making things ooober complicated. It bugs me...... And Disney movies (especially the princess lovey dovey ones) set the bar pretty high too. It's rather annoying
SaintOlaf
On the flip side, be careful not to set your standards too low either. Follow the positive role models you have in your life and throughout history. God has a plan for you!

vee
The Vow? I watched the trailer for it and immediately wrote it off as soon as I saw the clip of the guy asking the girl to move in with him.

LinaSt.Cecilia2772
The Hunger games i'm reaaallllllyyyy excited for. The vow was a really good movie, just can't let the sin get to you. It did have a very good story line, but it was really hard and sad to watch at times. I usually don't cry in movies, but I cried in this one.
