Why not try again if you are still drawn. Things can go astray, or slip out the mind, and perhaps this is what happened with your original contact.

The newly clothed novice in the blog picture sure did look radiant!

Praised be Jesus Christ! They received 3 new postulants! http://veneremurcern...esus-of-prague/ (not sure if they entered at the same time)

Also, the link in first post in this thread is gone, but here's another one with a picture of that novice who was clothed, along with other events from earlier this year, http://veneremurcern...rmelite-chapel/ :like:

p.s. This is the only US Carmel I know of that gives the new name to the postulant upon entrance. They told me this is a Spanish custom (though as far as I've heard, no other US Spanish Carmels do this .. I know of one that used to though). I know the Carmel in Ecijia Spain does. I remember it was this way for St. Teresa of the Andes too

Oh wow how interesting. Is this a tradition with this particular carmel or are there others with similar customs?

The following Carmels I know give the religious name upon entrance as a postulant:
Wolverhampton (UK)
Kirk Edge (UK)
Edmonton (Canada)
Nedlands (Australia)
