CatherineM
My husband is celebrating tonight by having dinner with the Lieutenant Governor. He's going to be receiving the Diamond Jubilee medal for his mental health advocacy work. Just one of those silly things the Queen does to show support for her subjects. homeschoolmom
The Queen is a Hutterite too?
No. She's definitely Anglican. You may have been confused because she likes to shop at Walmart. And while Hutterites do make up a large percentage of Walmart's clientele, the royal family *does* like to get a good deal on paper towels and Rubbermaid containers, too. I can see how you might jump to the conclusion that Her Majesty is a Hutterite, but that is simply not the case.
Hubertus
60 years?! That's a long time!! I knew she was old, but I didn't realize she has been queen for that long.
When I worked at Walmart while going to SOSU, we had this lady who would always come in and claim to be the Queen of England... She said she owned all the Walmarts too, and was everyone's boss.

Vincent Vega
I find some of these remarks offensive. I will not dignify them with the opposite and positive argument to those of you who have already decided that our Queen is a useless figurehead. We know differently. As for saying " they are Anglican" just thank God for the true Faith and pray for those who do not have it, It is a gift to treasure and not our own achievement.
You can feel however you want about your head of state. As a citizen of a separate and sovereign nation whose people fought a war to combat the tyranny of your head of state's predecessors, you'll forgive me when I'm not crying tears of joy into my coffee in honor of her anniversary. Nihil Obstat
I am a citizen of a Commonwealth country, and I'm apathetic at best when it comes to the monarchy. I think I'm entitled. For that matter, I find it strange that in England and Wales there is a prayer for the queen at the end of Low Masses. It's quite the flattering prayer, but I wonder why they don't also pray for the conversion of the Church of England...
