Hofstra and Adelphi in Long Island are really strong. I go to Stony Brook and it's not quite as large and doesn't have the funding of those other two, but the people that are there are good.

If you ever go there to see them, you should let me buy you a beer (or whatever drink you feel is more appropriate)

Add University of North Texas to the list. Catholics are now the largest religious group on campus by far. So many in fact, that the Bishop has established a parish there to open in September. The first pastor will be the former diocesan vocations director!

woot! for Fr. Kyle Walterscheid!!!!

Bowling Green State University in Ohio. I can personally vouch for it's orthodoxy and its energy, and St. Paul's Outreach missionaries have just started working at the Newman Center/university parish.

I wouldn't say the University of Oklahoma, but they are getting FOCUS this semester, so good things should be happening soon.

Maybe it's because I went to a Catholic school that had FOCUS and it's just a case of redundancy, but I'm skeptical about saying that because a school is getting a FOCUS team that means that good things are happening.

They seemed pretty inconsequential for the most part at my school. But again, that might just be because we're already Catholic, and it was a redundancy.

I thought FOCUS was specifically for secular schools? They're pretty expensive from what I hear, so it'd be nice if they could do some work at OU. There isn't really a whole lot of guidance there for those wanting to go deeper into their faith.

University of Michigan (DSMME attend this school)

I'm from the same county as the University of Michigan. I went to Eastern Michigan University, one town over. Many DSMME went to EMU, the tend to teach and EMU is a better and more affordable teaching college. Despite their presence on campus, they had no discernable impact, I would assume it's laregely the same at U of M.

Also, most devout Catholic University of Michigan students seem to laregely avoid the student parish and/or participate in the young adult ministries at a nearby parish.

The same situation existed at EMU, except now the student parish has been merged into the mearby parish, and I hope for good results with time.

This brings up a point: sometimes there is access to good Catholic fellowship, devotion, liturgies, etc in the university community that isn't necessarily part of the official campus ministry.

Well, there's a contingent of FOCUS at Mount St. Mary's University. Make of that what you will.
