Obama Defends Roe v. Wade As Way for ‘Our Daughters’ to Have Same Chance As Sons to ‘Fulfill Their Dreams’

(CNSNews.com) – President Barack Obama says the 39[sup]th[/sup] anniversary of Roe v. Wade is the chance to recognize the “fundamental constitutional right” to abortion and to “continue our efforts to ensure that our daughters have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as our sons to fulfill their dreams.”
“As we mark the 39[sup]th[/sup] anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we must remember that this Supreme Court decision not only protects a woman’s health and reproductive freedom, but also affirms a broader principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters,” Obama said. “I remain committed to protecting a woman’s right to choose and this fundamental constitutional right.
I don't get it. I ASSUME he's referring to the rights of women to study, work, get a home etc, like a MAN-who of course, can not get pregnant (silly aside question, but where are the scientific funds to ensure that Men will one day being able to become pregnant?, just to make all things equal and all. Its just ridiculous-there are differences between genders, its not meant to mean inequality).

Secondly,I also want to know where is the law that forces men to face up to their responsibilities of being a father and so support women who may have unexpected pregnancies, and of being half responsible for conception of their child, and so responsible for their upbringing too? (not hammering men-there are lovely ones out there that do this, just trying to distribute things equally).

Sigh.

“While this is a sensitive and often divisive issue -- no matter what our views, we must stay united in our determination to prevent unintended pregnancies, support pregnant woman and mothers, reduce the need for abortion, encourage healthy relationships, and promote adoption,” Obama said.
I am of the belief that there are NO unintended/unplanned pregnancies. When a couple engages in sexual relations, they should be well aware that becoming pregnant is a definite possibility. Also, even if a woman is raped, I believe God allows (NOT punishes) a pregnancy to occur so that something positive can take place (i.e. the woman choosing life and bringing the child into the world and, sometimes, adoption). God knows what He is doing, but some just cannot live with that idea so they play God by choosing when a child is not a child and choosing to kill an innocent son/daughter. :ohno:

I guess BHO does not want his grandchildren to have much of a chance to fulfill their dreams...unless his grandchildren's dream is to be murdered by their mommy.

What a basketcase some people can be.

I don't even know what to say.
Then again this is the man who said he didn't want his daughters to be "punished" with a baby...
Meh.
I'm not surprised.
However I'm extraorinarily annoyed by that nonsense.

what completely boggles my mind about Obama is that his mom was a teen mom, and she didn't have an abortion. why is it that the man who was probably the most likely to be the victim of an abortion was given the beautiful gift of life, is NOT pro-life? call me crazy, but isn't that a bit hypocritical?

not to mention, he has two daughters and although he says he is pro-life, i doubt he would be completely supportive if down the road, God forbid, one of his daughters was considering an abortion.

I think you mean pro-choice. Obama said that if one of his daughters got pregnant, he wouldn't want them to be punished with a baby. :(
