In Need Of Prayer

Theologian in Training

Things were a bit confusing and certain information was not asked, so they did not do the TEE. However, the Dr. called before and told me that he still wants to do the TEE, but first I need to get my throat checked out. Now, here is the interesting thing, he said all my valves look fine, except for the aortic valve. However, the doctors have been telling me two valves were in need of repair. Keep praying!

I'm not sure what any of that means, but one valve repair instead of two sounds promising. Prayers still going up -- take it easy.

As homeschoolmom posted in the prayer forum, I may be facing another open-heart surgery, this would make it my third. Not to mention that just in May I had my 7th pacemaker surgery. Anyway, tomorrow I go for a test to find out better the condition of my heart. If you would not mind, please pray for me. It will be around 9AM.

I know i don't drop by here all that often anymore, but any and all prayers would be much appreciated.

Thanks and God bless,

Fr. Brian

I remember Sarah having to have a transesophageal echocardiogram before her heart surgery a while back, they really do give a clearer picture of everything.

Missy, I can at least answer the TEE part. That would be a transesophageal echocardiogram. Basically they stick a probe down your throat to get a clearer picture of your heart as the single wont have as far to travel vs an external echocardiogram. Problem with a TEE is they either have to knock most people out or have a nice dose of happy drugs. Also, it usually is performed by a cardiologist.

I've seen a TEE done with a big dose of happy drugs & the images are absolutely amazing. The radiologists are able to give really accurate diagnoses with this kind of imaging :)

This person has a man-made heart valve.
