Brother Adam
Hi all, I went to my first RCIA class (they do RCIA every monday where I am going) and the teacher was working on prayer tonight as a topic. She mentioned that at one time she heard that the rosary corresponds to the Psalms but didn't know what that was all about. lol. So I took the class through the entire history of the Rosary. For the rest of the night the teacher looked at me whenever someone asked a question. Adam

theculturewarrior
Wonderful! It is so beautiful when a person, whether cradle Catholic or convert, makes an informed decision to become Catholic (or to stay Catholic, or become more deeply Catholic). I'm all about informed consent!
Brother Adam
It will make for an interesting summer. I'm preparing my best friend from a Baptist backround to hear the news. We've gone through why contraception is sinful (and he agrees) and that the Catholic church is the only church to still hold this view. I figure if we just talk about one piece of theology a step at a time, my conversion won't be a shock, and maybe I will have planted seeds deep enough that he will seriously look into it too. Adam!! I'm in the becoming a deeper Catholic category BTW, one of the ways the two correspond is because of the number of psalms and number of prayers in the rosary, right? Brother Adam
That is right. It would be kind of hard to memorize all 150 Psalms to read along with those monks that could read during prayer so they formed the rosary.
rachael
that's great when that happens! it makes you feel so smart!
jmjtina
That is awesome Bro. Adam. God must have put you there to help her become a better RCIA teacher! (Or you as another RCIA teacher?!) You have a great gift of being able to teach ppl what you know. It's one thing to know it, but to articulate and make others understand, is truly a gift from God. God Bless. Iacobus
I think Brother Adam will be teaching in a few years, heck maybe even this one. I got to teach my APUSH class once cause I showed up the teacher on the Civil War, .
MrsFrozen
That's awesome! Frozencell and I will probably be teaching RCIA at our church this year, but it doesn't start for a few more months. God bless.

Sojourner
I'm going to be helping out with RCIA at my church this fall. I'm pretty excited about it, actually. I hope I get some people who actually have made an informed decision like you, Bro. Adam.
