Hi, I just registered here recently, and am discerning a vocation to the priesthood.

I was wondering if anyone here knows of the Franciscans of the Eucharist, or if any of you have any person experiences or opinions of the Congregation of Holy Cross priests (Notre Dame)?? What I really feel called to do ministry wise is evangelization, in a religious community that actually has a community lifestyle (at least 3 members), and who work in cities. I really would also love/need an order/religious community that is faithful to Church Teachings. That is a must for me. :proud: Ohh and if you think I might like a certain community or congregation please let me know!!

Thanks in advance for your comments or suggestions. Thanks!

Welcome to Vocation Station. If you have a pull towards Franciscans, there's always the Franciscans of the Renewal.

 Holy Cross priests!!! They aren't the most traditional community though, TradCatholic. No Latin Mass to my knowledge though I don't know your definition of "traditional." They are, for the most part, a very smart group of men--of course, they studied at Notre Dame! (I know a priest studying at Cambridge; he's a genius.) I go to a Holy Cross parish, and our priests are amazing. I didn't appreciate them, especially how good their homilies are, until I went to Mass in different dioceses (we also tend to have good diocesan priests) and almost died of boredom during the homily though some were better than others. We pretty much always have three HC priests living at our parish at a time and sometimes a deacon, but we haven't had one for a while though we've had a couple seminarians. I have a friend who entered in August, and a junior professed I know is at a Holy Cross mission in Africa this year! The Holy Cross Congregation is all over the world, so if you want to be sent on missions to Africa, India, Peru, and others, this would be a good order to discern with.

Sounds like you might possibly be around my area if you're asking about orders in Chicago and South Bend. In Fort Wayne, there's my other favorite guys community: the Franciscan Brothers Minor. I'm so excited to see them next weekend at the March for Life! They have a great devotion to Mary; they take a Marian Vow. And I think you'll like this:

Mary's Margaret

Welcome.
They aren't Franciscan, but they are all about evangelization, devotion to Mary, and loyalty to the Magisterium.

May you be mightily blessed in your discernment.
