his_remnant
AP article from today Unorthodox, divisive and a winner: Tim Tebow’s success keeps him in the limelight [quote/] Does God really care about football? “Not one whit,†said Joe Price, a professor in the religious studies department at Whittier College. “But does God care about people who play football? You betcha.â€
changing topics a bit...do you agree?
MithLuin
Yes. I've heard plenty of secular people joke about the idea of 'does anyone really think God cares about who wins a football game?' But the point is that God cares about people...and that people playing football should thank God, too, just like we all should, for our many blessings in life. Basilisa Marie
God doesn't help people win football games. But it's totally appropriate to thank God for the gifts to play the game well, keeping players from getting hurt, and ask for a speedy full recovery when they do. Aloysius
Teebow's not the only one who was praying during that game. Troy Polamalu crosses himself (Greek Orthodox style) regularly during the game. Great player, great guy. There's a great pic of Steelers and Broncos praying together, I don't know whether it was before or after the game, kinda looks like after the game which is pretty amesome. I apparently can't upload it though hmmm... Edited January 10, 2012 by Aloysius
XIX
God is a Packer fan (that's why His initial is the Packer logo). So, no, God does not help Tebow win.
Well, the Lord needs something to do during Green Bay's bye week.
