Apparently, it's on Netflix, so I may have to check it out...

Season 2 just started on PBS in Tampa. Why waste money buying it?

Saw episode 2 last nite. Mrs croaky is such a holier-than-thou b* and too self important. I'm looking forward to Thomas being OBrisns instrument of her humbling.

MS, did you ever get a chance to watch any episodes?

I get the feeling William is going to be killed in the war.... only because he's such a nice fellow and everybody loves him.... :( :( :(

I've seen one epi so far thanks to KrissyLou telling me it was on at the time. I need a Netflix account so I can watch it all. :-p

I watched an episode almost everyday and I started talking with an English accent...

...as a matter of fact, i'm typing this with an English brogue....

I love Downton Abbey even if the Irish accents are mostly awful and they reinvent Irish history by saying the Easter rising lasted eight weeks, instead of a few days.

I've never seen it. It's on Netflix, but I figured it was most likely anti-Catholic so I didn't watch it.

Why would it be anti-Catholic? Because it's set in Edwardian England? :)

It's totally not anti-Catholic at all. There isn't a whole lot of religion in it, but it doesn't ignore it either. In one scene, Lady Mary kneels down at her bed to pray for Matthew's safety during WWI, admitting that she's not as faithful as she should be. Of course the characters are members of the Church of England, but part of what makes the show fascinating to me is that there's a strong air of a moral code hovering over the characters. Nearly all the characters have a strong sense of what is right and what is wrong, and they all have to deal with the consequences of their actions, be they good or bad.

OOOOH!!!!!!

I REALLY hope it's Lady Sybil. She's in Ireland, after all. OR that Branson wants to get their child baptized in the Catholic Church, and the Dowager Countess flips out. I would love to see that. :D
