AccountDeleted
The previous question on Apostolic Succession got me thinking. I know that the Church can't ordain women but the answer to the previous question was that the Anglicans and sspx could have valid but illicit ordinations of priests because they had some real Bishops before their splits. Is this the same for those so called women priests who have been ordained by a rebel Bishop? Or does everyone automatically get excommunicated and that invalidates everything? Just never thought about this before now....
Theoketos
It is not the intention of the Church for there to be women priests, because Jesus did not give the authority of the Church to ordain women to the order of priests. And without the right intent there cannot be proper form and thus those women who attempt ordination do not receive ordinationOr simply, those ceremonies are illicit and invalid.
