Sopa Opponents Discuss Blackouts Of Service

Author of SOPA bill's Senate campaign website was apparently using copyrighted image without permission as a background. Thus, SOPA's author would be in violation of SOPA.

Edit: Geekosystem confirms Congressman Smith would indeed be in violation of SOPA if passed. Apparently the photo was Creative Commons licensce, so it could have been freely used if the photographer was given credit and it was non-commercial in nature. So if the bill is passed, the Congressman's re-election campaign site could be taken down as a rogue website by the United States government.

How long until people start pirating a bunch of stuff and posting it on the websites of SOPA supporters?

Obama has come out against this particular bill, which is a good sign.

Yep! It's sort of like the politicians who speak out against various things...and then get caught doing them.

Me too.
But LOL my history teacher would probably love this video.
The part about Hitler having covers of Lady Gaga songs was hysterical.

Did they just read these bills?

Hollywood and media outlets are pushing hard for this to pass. They want the government to do their legal departments work.

Obama was for it before he was against it.

He had to choose which donor base he needed more. He chose Silicon Valley over Hollywood.

It's election season. Whatever the people want to hear is what he'll say.

Of course, for President Obama, every season is election season....
