AudreyGrace
How has Obama used Christianity and the Word of God to shape America? Oh yeah, he's disregarded it. Perhaps THAT'S why he's in there.

Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
I know nothing almost on the states. How is it that you can make that judgement that that book was used to cash in on christ, and what of the cash in the church trays to feed the hungry and clothe the naked ? Please tell me the story in short on the author of the patriots bible and as to how he was trying to cash in on such a project soley for his own personal fortune of $'s ? Unlike feeding and caring for the poor, something that Obama has fought for but is conspicuously absent in the Scriptures.
Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
my local catholic bookstore grossely over prices bibles in my opinion and makes them un-affordable to the poor except the pocket good news version and it only has psalms from the OaTs sooooo what sayeth ye all to that. And even than the Good News version of holy scripture there, ain't even the new one that is okayed by Mother church. Though i guess beggers can't be choosers and Bigots can do whatever the hell they wan't to
Tab'le De'Bah-Rye
I demand a pocket version of the holy bible church approved and sold for minimal or no profit and the catholics bookshops ordered to also sell it for little or no profit, so i can buy a catholic version of scripture for my poor friends. And I think the Bible and all liturgical texts should automatically be in the public domain, with only minimal legal protection to ensure that they aren't edited into something heretical. AccountDeleted
I personally don't like any type of patriotism being connected with Bibles or churches or anything but I know that is very personal. In England, they sing hymns to the Queen and have the Queen's portrait in some churches (I don't mind as much in Anglican churches as she is the head of the church there) but I would just like politics, governments and all that separate from the Church if possible. The ancient Jews didn't like Caesar putting the eagle at the entrance to the temple (but they don't like images anyway I know) and I just like to render to god that which is His and to leave the rest of secular world to its own identity. I'm not saying patriots (of any country) can't be good Christians, of course they are, it's just a personal view.
eustace scrubb
this is only the tip of the iceberg. the various themed Bibles out there is so vast, it's insane. there was even a "one-minute" Bible, which thankfully, didn't last long. in other news, this thread reminds me of why i don't post on here regularly. the judgmentalism and hatred for people with different views than the ones popularly accepted on this forum drive me nuts. there's no difference between the way people act on here as opposed to liberal message boards. reading it is an exercise in frustration, because i expect better of members of the Church. i'm done with this place. if my account can be deleted or deactivated, please do so.
