Hasan pretty much nailed it.

Btw I'm a socialist who tends to vote democrat, but I'm probably writing in Ron Paul on election day

I apologize for the hijack, but are you aware that socialism has been strongly, repeatedly and unequivocally condemned by the Church as incompatible with the Christian Faith?

"Religious socialism, Christian socialism, are contradictory terms; no one can be at the same time a good Catholic and a true socialist." ~ Pius XI, Quadregesimo Anno

However, Ron Paul's laissez faire libertarian views are in fact the polar opposite of socialism.

Every once in awhile, it's good to get a reminder that progress is made on the anti-abortion front.

Not that the people who wrote that article view it that way!

I too am quite confused about how Ralf Nader could be supporting Ron Paul in any way. Aside from the fact that they share some asinine assumptions in the realm of foreign policy their views of the role of government and the place of a regulatory regime in our society are completely incompatible.

Ron Paul's foreign policy is one reason I could never vote for him.

Unfortunately, the majority of the American public seems rather indifferent on the foreign policy front, particularly when the economy at home is doing so poorly.
