MithLuin
Everyone keeps telling me I need to read the Hunger Games. I have never really been into fiction. Pretty much my entire life I have always read non-fiction because I have a great love for expanding my knowledge. I think I will pick up the book and read it before the movie comes out.
I haven't read 'The Hunger Games', so I don't want to knock them, but....if you don't much like fiction, you probably won't like them. I've a sister who dislikes fiction, and it's frustrating/annoying when her friends tell her she 'has' to read some book. She's not going to like it. She never does. There are books she does like, but...they're nonfiction. That being said, there's no harm in trying, and if you don't like the first one, you don't have to keep reading. EmJaez
The Hunger Games are great. While they are fiction it's really easy to see how we could fall into this world.
his_remnant
I am working on a book discussion guide for them for a class I am taking of Youth Ministry. I've found that they are a great launching pad to talking to teens about things like violence in video games/movies and violence in life, reality TV, true love etc. I love the plot line and you can draw a lot out of the books...even our need for God, despite Suzanne Collins being an adamant atheist. MissyP89
The three books of the trilogy are #1, 2 and 3 on USA TODAY's bestseller list this week. Hype is building, apparently. The movie releases two months from today.

FutureSister2009
I read the first two. Heard mixed things about the third one. But I really want to see the movie!
how could you leave off at Catching Fire...didn't you feel the need to have closure?? the series isn't complete without the ending. btw, i am not saying they are perfect but they are an excellent launching pad
Chrysophylax
If you are looking for some really great fiction books for teens that are rather suspenseful and really great, you should read 100 Cupboards by N. D. Wilson. I have not read the Hunger Games yet, but since everyone has been saying I should, I guess they are going on my reading list! I wonder how soon I can visit the library again... (one trip to the library in a week is not enough!)
