eustace scrubb
I know, but I'm poor. And the discount price might not be enough for me.
Sarah147
I wrote AMS and asked if I could get a discount since I'm jobless at the moment (looking for employment).
A w esome. Lemme know if they do discounts and how much, just for the future...
Andrea348
I've tried all three. I have had the most success with CatholicMatch. CatholicMatch seems to have the most active users. There are many liberal people on there, but there are also conservative. I've met 3-4 people in person from that site.
fides' Jack
I went from one profession in which I had daily interaction with female co-workers and dealt with the general public (restaurant business), to another profession in which I have almost zero interaction with females and which rarely deals with the general public (Army Infantryman). I'm not generally one who can walk up to a random woman who is busy with a daily task and strike a conversation, unless there was a valid excuse or situation we were in to do so, such as asking an female employee's assistance on a certain product, or waiting in line at an event thus sharing a common interest, or etc. Just going up to somebody who may be working on college papers at a bookstore or catch up to a woman at the conclusion at Mass is not only creepy, but could be seen as rude behavior. Not trying to be difficult, just explaining my situation as I see it.
Try to see them as women, and not just female people, and you may have better luck. Socrates
I met my wife on AveMariaSingles.com I was also a member of catholicmatch.com (a fair number of people had accounts on both sites). I was never a member of any other dating sites, Catholic or otherwise. I was on there for quite a few years before meeting my wife, though I really wasn't a very active member most of the time. Did get a lot of contacts from women, and a fair number of dates before finally meeting my wife. AveMaria and catholicmatch are virtually identical in terms of their content and the orthodoxy of their administration, though AveMaria is the original, and prides itself on being "most Catholic" by on doing the most to try to limit their membership to serious orthodox Catholics (though there are unorthodox members on both sites, of course). If I recall, both of them allow you to set search parameters to narrow searches to people who are really Catholic (such as asking whether they agree with the Church on abortion, contraception, pre-marital sex, etc.). While catholicmatch has more members, I actually got more "action" on AveMaria - probably the smaller membership helps keep you from getting "lost in the crowd" - though other people have reported the opposite. Unfortunately, you'll probably have to deal with plenty of girls on those sites who are more into flirting or playing games than serious. Orginally, catholicmatch had technically better site, with fewer technical issues and more features, but by the time I was dating my wife, AveMaria had significantly improved in those areas, and had everything catholicmatch did. As I haven't visited either site in over three years, I can't speak as to their current status. AveMaria was constantly changing its features and terms of contract in the time I was on there. From what I've heard, Catholicsingles and other Catholic dating sites aren't really as solidly Catholic, and have lots of Catholic-in-name-only members. Anyway, that's my $.02. Merry Christmas! (the usually-scheduled bashin' o' the liberals shall resume sometime after Christmas)
Socrates
I also liked the idea that you pay once. The idea being that you shouldn't feel rushed.
That system didn't last long. As of when I left, they had changed to a yearly renewal payment system. Just a fyi. Norseman82
Paladin, If you are stationed here in the US, try finding a Mass at a Traditional Latin Mass, Opus Dei, or otehr parish that has a young adult Mass and go in uniform? Also, if you can get leave toward the end of next month, try the National Catholic Singles Conference in Denver: http://www.nationalc...licsingles.com/ It is run by orthodox Catholics, and you will not have the "single vocation" or "you need to be comfortable being single before you can get married" nonsense shoved in your face. I did meet one prospect (a nice Góral girl) at the last one in Chicago. Based on that experience, I will give you this one bit of advice: find out early on if they are still discerning convent. corban711
I know I haven't posted on here in a while but was just browsing and saw this thread...I like Catholic Match. I can't speak to the others because I haven't tried them. I found it very easy to use and a good place to meet good women. I would recommend that site to anyone.
